Barcelona: Barcelona unveil new jersey for the 2023/24 season: Inspired by their women's team

Barcelona have unveiled a unique kit for the 2023/24 season, which draws inspiration from the women's team. The kit features the club's classic wide stripes and original Azulgrana colors, but with a special addition-a sublimated rhombus above the shield.

This rhombus represents the first-ever women's team to play a football match at the Spotify Camp Nou, symbolizing Barcelona's pioneering spirit.

The purpose of the new shirt, presented on June 15 with the theme 'Here, to lead the way,' is to commemorate this anniversary and pay tribute to the women who gathered in 1970 to become pioneers in women's football at the Spotify Camp Nou.

They led by example in a time when there were few references, paving the way for future generations. Now, more than 50 years later, young players are destined to lead and continue the club's legacy. Additionally, the kit promotes sustainability through innovative design.

The shirt prominently features the logos of key sponsor Spotify and Nike. The men's first team kit also includes the Ambilight TV brand on the sleeve, while the women's kit showcases the Bimbo logo. Furthermore, the kit incorporates the UNHCR/UNHCR logo beneath the bib number.

Fans can purchase the new kit from June 15 through the club's e-commerce platform, Nike, and various Barcelona Stores such as the ones at the Spotify Camp Nou, Canaletas, Paseo de Gracia, Sagrada Familia, Westfield La Maquinista, La Roca Village, Poble Espanyol, Barcelona Airport T1 and T2, and Arenas Shopping Center. They were informally considered Barcelona women's team. Eventually, in 2002, Barcelona officially recognized the women's team, incorporating them into the club and adopting their crest as the official emblem.

Since then, this remarkable legacy has transformed into a success story, culminating in the team's victory in the 2021 Women's Champions League, Alexia Putellas receiving the Ballon d'Or as the best player in the world, and their historic second victory in the Women's Champions League final on June 3, 2023.
