Gary Wright Bio, Parents, Wife, Children, Siblings, Net Worth: Iconic American musician and composer, Gary Wright, officially known as Gary Malcolm Wright has reportedly died.

Best known for hits “Dream Weaver” and “Love is Alive” which both peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, Wright died at 80 on Monday, 4 September 2023 at his home in Palos Verdes Estates.

At this time of writing (Tuesday, 5 September), the cause of his death has not yet been made public. However, a few years ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia

Wright had a career as a child actor in TV and radio commercials. After playing in high school bands, he decided music was “too unstable” to do professionally and instead trained to be a doctor in the US and West Germany.

In Europe, Wright abandoned medicine for music and in 1967 became joint lead vocalist in the British blues rock band Spooky Tooth before embarking on a solo career in 1970.
