ITV Tenable: Sally Lindsay's rock star husband and how he made her want kids

Sally Lindsay is best known as Coronation Street’s likeable Shelley Unwin, whose marriages to bigamist Peter Barlow and abusive builder Charlie Stubbs propelled the character into soap stardom.

Since leaving the Cobbles in 2006, Sally has remained a constant presence on our screens - including in this evening's Tenable,.

The 48 year old also starred in Sky comedy drama Mount Pleasant from 2011 to 2017, and was a frequent panellist on Loose Women between 2011 and and 2014.

Most recently, the actress and presenter has temporarily taken the reins from Warwick Davis as the new host of ITV’s afternoon game show, usual host Warwick unable to film for five weeks.

Wife to 56 year old drummer Steve White, Sally isn’t the only famous face in her household.

Her rock star husband has spent years working with British singer-songwriter Paul Weller.

He is credited as a drummer on Paul’s solo records as far back as 1992, when his eponymous debut album was released.

However, Sally’s husband was also part of Paul’s band The Style Council, right up until their last album Modernism: A New Decade, released in 1989.

The pair have two children together, twin boys Victor and Louie, though Sally has previously revealed in an interview that it wasn’t until she met Steve that she considered having children.

Speaking to The Mirror in 2019, she said she was too busy with her career to even think about children.

“I thought it was made up, you know, that urge that you desperately want to procreate," she said.

“I couldn’t believe it when it happened to me.
