The 1975 Announces Indefinite Hiatus From Touring Celeb Secrets
The 1975 will be taking a “indefinite hiatus” from live shows after finishing their Still… At Their Very Best run of shows.
The band’s frontman Matty Healy announced to their Sacramento, California crowd that after this tour, the band will be taking a break from live performances. He said, “We love coming to this place and playing for you guys whenever we have the chance. It’s wonderful you’re all here. After this tour, we will be going on an indefinite hiatus with shows, so it’s wonderful to have you guys with us tonight. Thank you so much.”
But don’t worry. The band’s tour is only on their third date of the 60-date run. Right before the start of this tour, the group concluded their At Their Very Best following their 2022 album Being Funny in a Foreign Language.
Fans are left shocked and wondering if this hiatus has anything to do with the string of controversies Healy has been getting into.
Videos of the musician’s rather interesting choice of actions circulated social media – such as eating raw meat and kissing fans – propelling the band’s fame to a new height. Healy also did a Nazi salute onstage during a Kanye West song.
More backlash ensured when Healy went on The Adam Friedland Show and laughed about watching racially offensive porn and laughed at the hosts’ racist jokes surrounding Ice Spice.
The band recently announced a 2024 UK and European tour making stops in Paris, Oslo, Madrid, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Berlin, Milan and more ending in Germany on March 22nd. You can find tickets here.
